Broken SteelA bright sun shone above the bare ground in the sky.Cracks ran along through the brown dirt, carving small canyons and picturesque vacation photo spots in miniature all over the arid landscape. Each step of the pair walking through the empty landscape softly devastated the miniature pieces of beauty, which had each taken millions of miniature years to form. Soft crunches rang out in the breeze above the splintered dirt and flew into the azure sky on the wings of the breeze which softly buffeted the landscape.The pair, both in their later teens, walked with a pace that disguised the weariness in both of their eyes, and instead expressed the familiar wonder which they felt while walking under the desolate sky, in the desolate land. BlueBlue.It penetrated, fluctuating and flowing and feeling its way into the small cracks of her head. The air flowed over the cracks, filled them, and them exited, one blue molecule after the other. It flowed over her body, moving within the small canyons and folds created by her long hair and her skin, never hesitating, never slowing down. Just flowing, feeling and fluctuating with a steady insensitivity.It was cold.She woke up.The blue stayed, as it always does, and paid her no mind.Above her she saw more of it. Blue. A cracked sky with streams flowing out, clouds moving across the broken atmosphere like drops of paint dripping slowly down a ruined canvas.She looked down, and saw only pieces that had fallen from the broken sky, fragments of air and indigo shards of ice.The ground was dead, as was the rest of the world, and could not feel her presence. Silence and stillness pervaded the area in which she found herself.The Blue, monotonous in its sporadic flow, paid her no mind.S
